Windows 11 comes with some advanced features & the majority of the users love this Operating system. But few users complain that Windows 11 is consuming much more CPU than its previous versions.

I did some research on Windows 11 & its CPU usage, and after doing the complete analysis, I am writing this article to inform you everything regarding this.

So, Does Windows 11 have more CPU Usage?

Yes! the Windows 11 operating system, in some instances, uses much more CPU than its previous versions; therefore, many people face poor performance. But this issue is not occurring in all the systems.

If you face this issue on your system, it is such a worrying sign because it can take a long time to perform simple tasks, or in some cases, the apps can crash.

In some instances, Windows 11 can become unusable, and in this case, you need to restart your computer.

But there is some solution to this issue, and in the below section, I have explained all the facts regarding this, like why Windows 11 consume more CPU, how can you check the CPU usage, and how you can fix this issue?

What is the Normal CPU usage on Windows 11?

The CPU usage is an indicator that tells you how much stress the processor is currently undergoing and what capacity is still available. The CPU usage can amount to a maximum of 100 per cent.

In the case of normal use, I have noticed that the CPU usage on Windows 11 would go around 2% to 5%. For general applications and less demanding games, the CPU usage would be approximately 10% to 30%. It could go up to 70% for demanding applications and games, and in some instances, it touches 80%.

However, if you do web browsing or do regular tasks on the internet like watching YouTube, then the CPU usage would go up 5% to 15%.

This is the average CPU usage within Windows 11, but sometimes this CPU usage can go up and down.

For instance, when it comes to watching Youtube videos, this CPU usage depends on your CPU, browser, and the video quality you are watching.

Does Windows 11 Use more CPU than Windows 10?

According to Microsoft, Windows 11 allows apps to run in the background, and as a result, it can cause excessive CPU usage.

Now, the question is whether Windows 11 use more CPU than Windows 10?

Yes! Windows 11 uses more CPU than the Windows 10 operating system.

On average, the typical CPU usage for a decent CPU, GPU and SSD in Windows 10, at idle, is around 2% to 4%.

On the other hand, the normal CPU usage on Windows 11 would be around 2% to 5%.

So, overall it’s clear that there is not much difference between the Windows 10 & Windows 11 normal CPU usage. But when you run demanding applications & games, Windows 11 uses more CPU than WIndows 10.
