When Windows 11 was primarily launched, many peoples were excited about this new operating system, but some systems are not supported by Windows 11 due to some reasons. Here we are going to talk about the Ryzen 3 2200g processor.

The Ryzen 3 2000is well a capable processor, but is it supported by Windows 11?
No! the ryzen 3 2200G processor is incompatible with Windows 11, and you cant upgrade this processor from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
I know that the short answer doesn’t satisfy you; therefore, in the below section, I have explained Why this processor is not supported by Windows 11?
Why is Ryzen 3 2200G Incompatible with Windows 11?
The Ryzen 3 2200G is a well-capable processor, and it also comes with the TPM (TPM) chip; now you probably wondering why this processor is not compatible with Windows 11?
Before discussing the answer, let’s look at the specification of this processor-
- Platform- Boxed Processor
- Product Line- AMD Ryzen 3 Desktop Processor with Radeon Vega Graphics.
- CPU Cores- 4
- Threads- 4
- Base Clock speed- 3.5 GHz
- Boost Clock speed- 3.7 GHz
- Total L1 Cache- 384KB
- Total L2 Cache- 2MB
- Total L3 Cache- 4MB
- Default TDP- 65W
- CPU Socket- AM4
- Unlocked for Overclocking- Yes
- Thermal Solution (PIB)- Wraith Stealth
As you can see, this processor has such a good specification, till it is not supported by Windows 11 because AMD processors that have been admitted using Windows 11 are those that go from 2nd gen ryzen (zen+) beyond, and this processor is Raven Ridge (Zen, 1st gen), but not Picasso (Zen+, 2nd Gen); therefore it is not supported by Windows 11.

The main reason behind this is the absence of mode Based Execution control (MBEC) which improves the isolation of kernel memory since AMD didn’t include this technology in their 1st gen processors, but they did in Zen+. That simple detail is the one that excludes 1st generation from the Windows 11 compatibility list.
There’s also the optimization in the cores to reduce latency in the L3 cache (improvement in IPC) and other optimizations regrading memory management. It’s not about smoothness but security.
This is why this processor is not supported by Windows 11.
Final Thoughts
After looking at all the system requirements of Windows 11, it can be said that this Ryzen 3 2200g processor is not supported by Windows 11, and you cant upgrade this processor from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
