HP Envy Windows 11 Issues

Not all the HP Envy Laptops & Desktops are compatible with the Windows 11 operating systems because not all the HP Envy PCs complete the system requirements of Windows 11.

TPM 2.0 Issue

Microsoft wants to make the Windows 11 operating system more secure than the Windows 10 operating system. For this security purpose, Microsoft introduces the TPM 2.0 concept within Windows 11.

The term TPM stands for Trusted Platform Module & it is an international standard for a secure cryptoprocessor, a dedicated Microcontroller designed to secure hardware through integrated cryptographic keys.

In simple terms, TPM is a cryptographic key that enhances the computer’s security.

As Microsoft mentioned on their official blog that without a TPM 2.0 chip, you could not run Windows 11, as it is used for several features in Windows 11.

Most of the PCs shipped in the past 5 or 6 years (from 2016) support the TPM 2.0 chip, but some of the old HP Envy PCs that came before 2016 cannot run the TPM 2.0 chip.

Because of the TPM 2.0 chip incapability, some HP Envy PCs face an unsupported Windows 11 issue.

Secure Boot Capability Issue

Secure Boot is another prominent security feature introduced in Windows 11 by Microsoft. It is an important security feature designed to prevent malicious software from loading when your PC boots.

Although most modern PCs are capable of Secure Boot, some older low-end PCs are not capable of Secure Boot.

Some of the older HP ENVY computers cannot secure Boot; therefore, whenever users try to install Windows 11 on those PCs, they will get the Unsupported UEFI secure boot message.

Remember that sometimes there may be settings that cause the PC to appear not to be capable of Secure Boot & these settings can be changed in the PC firmware.
