Does AMD Ryzen 3 Overheat? (Experts Opinion)

The AMD Ryzen 3 is one of the most demandable CPUs available in the market, and there are many speculations amongst the buyers about the overheating issues about this processor.

I have done a ton of research about this processor, and here in this article, I will talk about the Ryzen 3 heating issues.

So, Does AMD Ryzen 3 Overheat?

It depends on what tasks you are performing with this CPU. Most Ryzen three processors come with default 65w TDP (Thermal Design Power) and 3.5 GHz of boost clock speed rate; therefore, they cannot handle much pressure. However, if you are browsing the internet and doing some basic tasks, it will perform well, but if you are generating 3d renderings and performing heavy gaming tasks, this CPU heated up too much.

If you are performing some heavy tasks, then your Ryzen 3 CPU can heat up, and here in the below section, I have explained some of the crucial reasons why your Ryzen 3 overheats up and how you can prevent this.

Why AMD Ryzen 3 is Overheat?

There were several reasons are there about why your Ryzen 3 is heating up, and here I have mentioned all those reasons one by one-

Heavy Loading

If you are putting too much loading on your Ryzen 3 processor, it will heat up too much. Usually, a CPU temperature is directionally proportional to the amount of electricity that passes through it.

If you are an average user and are doing a typical spreadsheet using a word processing package, presentation, or email, this processor won’t heat up.

However, suppose you are using your Computer to run complicated models, generate 3d renderings, or perform some heavy gaming stuff. In that case, these tasks are much more computationally intensive, and it will cause the CPU and heat your Ryzen 3 CPU.

However, it doesn’t mean that you cannot browse the internet to perform heavy gaming; you can do it with much comfort if your system has a properly functioning cooling system.

Low TDP(Thermal Design Power)

TDP stands for Thermal Design power and is also called the Thermal Design point. It is the maximum amount of heat generated by a computer chip or component that the cooling system in a computer is designed to dissipate under any workload.

Usually, most Ryzen 3 processors come with the 65W of TDP, which means this cooler can dissipate 65 watts of heat.

In comparison with Intel’s Core processors, the TDP is pretty low within this AMD Ryzen 3, and because of this, sometimes the Ryzen 3 processor overheats up.

Number of Cores

Cores are the essential components of the CPU, and these are responsible to executes the program instructions. Usually, the AMD Ryzen 3 processor comes up with the 4 CPU cores.

Therefore it becomes unable to handle high CPU intensive tasks simultaneously, and because of this reason, the Ryzen 3 heats up too much.

Clock Rate

The Clock rate speed of this Ryzen 3 processor is between 3.5 GHz to 3.9 GHz, and as we know, that clock speed is a measure of how many clock cycles a CPU can perform per second.

Compared with the Intels clock speed rate, it is pretty low, and therefore sometimes this processor runs hot.

AirFlow Problems

This is another crucial reason why your Ryzen 3 is heating up too much. As we know that to move the heat from your CPU to the outside of your Computer’s case, several cooling components work simultaneously.

However, anyhow, if your computer air can flow, then the cooling components won’t work. However, if your Ryze 3 processor is heating too much, you can use some compressed air to blow out the case. And it should remove the dust that has clogged the airflow passages.

CPU Cooler Faliure

As we know that most of the CPUs are covered by a significant cooling assembly which consists of three components- a fan, a heatsink, and a thin layer of thermal conductance that helps to transfer heat from the CPU to the heatsink and to fan.

So, if your Ryzen 3 is heating too much, then there is one option for you that is reattached, or have a professional reattach, the CPU cooler and reapply the thermal tape or grease so that you have a fresh coating.

System Cooling Faliure

Your Computer’s case should also have at least two fans- a case fan and a fan in the power supply.

If either of these two fans isn’t functioning, your CPU cooler maybe removes your CPUs heat, but your CPU exhausted hot air ends up sitting in the case where it bakes the CPU and the other components. Replacing any defective case fans should solve this problem.

These are some of the reasons why the AMD Ryzen 3 CPU overheats Up, and by following all of these things, you can stop your Ryzen processor from overheating problems.

Does Ryzen 3 3200g Overheat?

The Ryzen 3 3200g model consists of 4 CPU cores, and it boosts clock speed by up to 4 GHz and the Thermal design power of the Ryzen 3 3200g is between 45 to 65W.

Based on the TDP, this Ryzen 3 3200g processor can perform the basics CPU tasks; however, if you want to perform some heavy CPU-intensive tasks with this processor, this Ryzen 3 3200g heats up.

Does Ryzen 3 3300x Overheat?

The Ryzen 3 3300x consists of 4 cores, and its base clock speed is around 3.8Ghz to 4.3 GHz; its default TDP is around 65W, as we know that the TDP below 95W is considered as more petite, and therefore this processor also heated up when we perform heavy CPU intensive base tasks.

Does Ryzen 3 2200g Overheat?

The Ryzen 3 3200g is another excellent processor. It contains 4 CPU cores, and its base clock speed is around 3.5 GHz, and the default TPD of this Ryzen 3 2200g is about 65W, so, if you are browsing the internet or you are doing some basic things, then it is pretty awesome, however, if you are performing some other kind of CPU based tasks, then this CPU might get hot.

Does Ryzen 3 3100 Overheat?

The Ryzen 3 3100 model consists of 4 CPU cores, and its maximum boost clock speed is up to 3.9 GHz, and the default TDP of this CPU is around 65W.

Because of its clock rate speed and average thermal design power, it is not heated up too early, but this CPU will become overheated if you play some heavy CPU-based games.

Does Ryzen 3 1300x Overheat?

The Ryzen 3 1300X contains 4 CPU cores, and its boost clock speed rate is up to 3.7 GHz, and its default thermal design power is 64W; I have run some games within this CPU, such as Projects Cars 2, Tomb Raider, and it runs pretty smoothly, but when I run some other heaviest games then this CPU started to runs very hot.
